Mansfield Business Improvement District (BID) are working with partners from Mansfield District Council, Nottinghamshire County Council/VIA, and Notts Police to devise weeks of action to clean up Mansfield Town Centre. Mansfield BID CEO, Jay Rawlinson, is appealing to local businesses and individuals to secure interest and participation in becoming members of the 1st Day of Action Clean Up Crew and helping to make Mansfield shine. The aim is to improve the look and feel of Mansfield Town Centre so that it is a cleaner and more welcoming place to visit. A place where people will feel safe and enjoy all that the town centre has to offer. Over the next year they are splitting the town centre up in to four zones and tackling each area in four week-long efforts to clean, preen, paint and light the town centre. The first zone to be tackled is the Town Centre Market Place Area and West Gate. Work will also be carried out by Mansfield and Nottinghamshire Councils throughout the week of 9th – 13th October.

Mansfield BID would like to invite you to come along to be part of our main Day of Action supporting your town and fellow town centre businesses on Wednesday 11th October from 9am – 4pm, meeting in the Market Place. All town centre businesses, partners and media are invited to join during this first united day of action.

Tasks on the day will include painting, weeding, cleaning and tidying specific locations in the Market Place and West Gate Area. You may not be able to attend the whole day so it would be fantastic to see you if even if it’s for a few hours. All who attend will be given protective clothing/PPE, a certificate of participation and there will be extensive media coverage throughout the day and a team photograph at midday. Businesses will also be named on all the media platforms available to MDC, NCC and the BID thanking them for their support and interest in making Mansfield Town Centre the best it can be.
The town’s Mayor and other county and town leading figures will be participating and it will be an excellent opportunity for you to speak to them to discuss your thoughts, concerns and hopes for your town centre moving forward.

There are three other dates locked in for 2024, so if you are unable to attend the October 2023 action day, please consider joining at another time. The dates for next year are:
13 March 2024
12 June 2024
16 October 2024
Please let members of the BID team know if you or members of your town centre business are able to support this first Day of Action by Friday 29th September. Contact: [email protected] or office phone 01623 633939. We hope you can join us.
Jay Rowlinson, Mansfield BID CEO
