The winners of the Discover Ashfield photography competition have been announced.
Over 60 residents took on the annual competition for 2023, which received so many great images of people taking the categories into their own hands.
This year’s competition had three categories, “What you love about Ashfield”, “Ashfield at work” and a category for “Under 16’s”.
The winners for each category were:
What you Love about Ashfield Category – Kerry Waudby with “Mrs Alcocks 105th Birthday Wish”
Ashfield at Work Category – Annie-Rai Appleby with “A Farmers Machinery”
Under 16’s Category – Grace Gunton-Day with “Reflections”
Each winner will receive a £50 Arc Cinema and a £50 Love to Shop voucher.
Ashfield District Council and the Discover Ashfield team would like to thank everyone who entered this year’s competition, the creativity on show has been inspirational. The judging panel found it hard to pick a winner this year because each photo showed what a great place Ashfield is to live, work and visit. Thank you to everyone who entered, and congratulations to the winners for 2023.

Leader of the Council, Cllr Jason Zadrozny said: it’s always a pleasure to see the talent we have in Ashfield and the competition always brings out new and creative ways our residents see Ashfield. You get to see pictures of places you didn’t know about and see a fresh perspective on places and things you maybe weren’t aware of. I’m looking forward to next year already.
