Matt Harding of BeeNoticed Ltd has asked 2020 to share some great news about supporting local NCS students and Portland College.
Matt writes…..
Dear fellow 2020 members.
My daughter Ellie and 14 other local students from Mansfield and surrounding areas aged between 15-17 have given up 4 weeks of their summer holidays to volunteer for NCS (National Citizens Service).
NCS provides young people with a great opportunity to experience new challenges, embrace new experiences and make their mark on the local community.  Ellie and the other students have taken up that challenge rather than sitting around after their GSCE exams.
In weeks 3 and 4 of the program they choose a charity to support and help them with raising funds and delivering a project.
Ellie’s NCS team have selected to help Portland College achieve their goal of building a new sensory garden for autistic students.  It’s expected to cost somewhere in the region of £25,000 so any funds raised will be of huge help towards the college reaching the full amount.    In order to raise funds Ellie and her NCS friends are walking from Mansfield to Nottingham.  They will also be getting their hands dirty and helping at Portland College to prepare the garden.
I hope you can support this fantastic idea and this new feature at Portland College.  If you would consider making a personal or company donation of any value, every penny will help.  You can donate at GoFundMe.  (Link below).  If you do donate, please leave them a message wishing them well and saying who has sponsored them.
