A commitment to its apprenticeships programme has seen Fidler & Pepper shortlisted for a prestigious business award.

The firm, which specialises in conveyancing matters and in Wills, probate and trusts, has been shortlisted in the Apprentice Employer category in the annual Nottingham Post awards scheme.
Managing partner Mark Slade said: “We have a firm commitment to growing our business through the development of apprentices. Why? Because it’s part of our plan for a successful business.
“Our recipe for success puts people development at the heart of our business strategy and the very essence of this is our ’grow your own’ approach to the recruitment, development and retention of good people. This starts at apprentice level.”
And he added: “Our progression pathway provides our young people with a real alternative to the traditional Higher Education route but supports their aspiration to build a long term career in the legal sector.”
Fidler & Pepper began offering apprenticeships in 2002 and over the past 16 years more than 20 people have successfully progressed through schemes.
A number of apprentices are now in more senior positions at the firm, and are working towards additional qualifications.
One current apprentice, Phoebe Hallam, said: “Apprentices here have very real work to do, but they also get a lot of support and learn a lot from more experienced people. It’s a great way in to working in the legal sector.”
Fidler & Pepper offers a supportive and aspirational environment that is designed to encourage employees to be the best that they want to be whilst supporting the requirements of the business.
Its commitment to its people recently saw the firm, with offices in Mansfield and in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire receive the coveted Silver accreditation from Investors In People.
