Does your business hire apprentice staff? If so, we want to hear from you!

 
Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 are taking part in a campaign to highlight the positive experience that employers have when they take the time to invest in the future of the regions young people.
Many employers worry that they will have a poor experience or that it will be extra burdensome to bring a young person in that may lack the necessary skills and experience they need.
We know from talking to employers across the area that whilst hiring apprentices has its challenges, it can be a highly rewarding experience and they often continue to hire more apprentices in the future.
 

How can you help?

If your organisation hires apprentices and would be willing to get involved, it would be great if you could send us a short video telling us about your experience. It doesn’t have to be professionally recorded; your smart phones video recording function will be ideal.
Start your video off by telling us who you are and what position you hold in your organisation. Then take a few minutes to answer a couple of the following questions:

  • When did you hire your first apprentice?
  • Why do you hire apprentices?
  • What do employers need to consider when hiring apprentices?
  • What value have apprentices brought to your business?
  • Give one example of an apprentice that has gone the extra mile or impressed you.
  • Would you recommend businesses to employ apprentices?

If the thought of recording yourself makes you nervous, then we can arrange to record a quick interview over zoom. We want to make this as easy as possible for you to get involved.

What will we do with your recording?

By sending us your videos you will be giving Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 permission to display your recording on our webpages and in our social media feeds. We may edit your video to be included in a range of excerpts from multiple employers. You will be welcome to ask for it to be removed at any time by emailing us directly at [email protected]
