Ashfield District Council’s Waste Team have been announced as finalists in the Best service team of the year – Waste Management & Recycling service category at the Association for Public Service Excellence awards.
The awards celebrate the best in local government and recognise the excellent work council teams deliver.
Councillor David Martin, ADC’s Cabinet Member for Streets, Parks and Town Centres said
“Everyone knows that during successive lockdowns Ashfield District Council was the only Council in Nottinghamshire to continue to provide a full bin collection service. Not just that, they provided an enhanced service with our Bag It! and Skip into Summer Campaigns.
“In an uncertain world they put their lives at risk. They have been and continue to be brilliant and this recognition is a testament to our whole team’s dedication to the residents of the Ashfield District.”
The results will be announced on 16th December via a virtual ceremony.
The second Bag it! campaign rolls out WC 30th November, residents across the District can leave out an extra bag of general waste with their red lidded bin collection that week.
