Mansfield and Ashfield businesses are being urged to submit entries into the area’s most prestigious awards – with this year seeing a return to a real-life glittering event.
Over the years, the annual Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 awards and ball have become a major part of the local business calendar, even through the pandemic, with last year’s awards ceremony taking place virtually.
The deadline for entries into the 2021 awards is July 1, and finalists will be announced on Thursday, July 16. Organisers are hoping this year’s event can take place in real life (with all COVID safe protocols in place).

If all goes to plan, the winners will be announced at the 2020 Awards and Ball on Thursday, September 30 at the The John Fretwell Centre, near Warsop.

Ella McManus, 2020 Operations Manager, said: “Without a doubt, the past 15 months have been tough for many of us, with stop start actions impacting the economy and lockdown challenges forcing almost everyone to work from home. We’ve all had to learn to adapt to new ways of working and managing our everyday lives.
“What better way then to recognise how we have all weathered the storm than with a celebration of all of our great businesses across the Mansfield and Ashfield areas. What’s more, you don’t even have to be a member of 2020 to submit an awards entry. We truly are wanting to celebrate local businesses and people.”

There are nine categories to choose from and this year judges will particularly be looking at how businesses have adapted in the face of the challenges posed by the pandemic.
Previous Business of the Year winners were R.E.A.L. Education. Richard Smith, Joint managing director and co-founder, said: “The whole experience of winning was absolutely fantastic for everyone at R.E.A.L. To be credited with the award on our 10-year anniversary made it extra special and was a reflection of the impact our team is having on young people’s lives.”
Entering the awards is really simple and this year online forms have made it even easier to get entries in. Enter the awards here.
