Members of Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 are no strangers to the benefits of coaching and training as many of you have attended our past training workshops and have heard business/personal coaches such as Andy Cope – Art of Brilliance and Pam Burrows – People Booster speak at our breakfast events. This is why we are pleased to be able to direct you to the free support being offered by member businesses below.
You may feel that coaching/training isn’t for you and that you are doing alright through the current Coronavirus situation but lots of people often find out that the coping mechanisms they have been using or the business as usual practices that they thought would get them through are actually working against them. This doesn’t mean that you are doing anything wrong, it means like many other business owners, you didn’t know there was any other way of doing it. Our human reactions of fight, flight or freeze, which were designed to keep us safe during our caveman days were very necessary to keep us alive, only in modern society they can lead us to make decisions based on irrational fears, if you would like to understand more about this then I highly recommend reading Professor Steve Peters book ‘The Chimp Paradox’ as he puts daily context to the science of the reptile brain.
Coaching and training is for winners, elite athletes will often employ coaches to guide them to become even better at something they are already great at. CEO’s hire business coaches to help them navigate through challenges that they may be facing in their businesses. This is no coincidence, having an extra pair of eyes in your business or in your personal challenges can help you identify where you keep tripping up and training can help you see how you can do things better, especially in a world that is certainly going to change when we come out on the other side of lockdown.
As a business owner, you may feel that you have to put on a brave face for customers and staff whilst feeling as though you have no-one that you can talk to about this worrying time for your business. One of those feelings could be around a lack of control, as though the outcome is in the hands of the government or health authorities. Coaching and training with peers in similar situations can help you to feel a little less alone and help you identify areas that you can manage and prepare for whilst waiting for the world to return to ‘normal’. You may even stumble across innovative ways to grow your business and get ahead of your competitors.
Mansfield and Ashfield 2020 have been approached by the following businesses who wish to provide complimentary coaching and training for our members.

Sarah McNichol

Sarah is offering a free one-hour group coaching session every week on Wednesdays for the duration of the Covid-19 lockdown. This is one hour a week of live coaching, encouragement and guidance to help you to navigate the challenges of this unfolding situation as effectively as possible for yourself, your business and those around you.
All 2020 members are welcome regardless of your business type, your role, how Covid is affecting your activities and whether you have experience of coaching. You don’t need any prior preparation, just turn up, however you are on the day. Sarah often has clients tell her they thought they had to be “ready” to work with a coach (a bit like cleaning before a cleaner comes). Not true, the point of coaching is to get help dealing with stuff and it’s the coach’s job to help you do that. If you are unsure and would like to know more before attending feel free to give her a call.
Sarah had her own successful architectural glass firm before moving into full-time coaching, so has first- hand experience of the challenges faced by business owners.

“As leader of a small organisation it’s very important to take some time out as a team and to reflect and learn from each other. Our organisation has had a busy and tough year and we needed to remember the importance of what we were doing but also to stop beating ourselves up for not “performing” to some impossible standard. Sarah took the time to understand our needs and lead us through some great, clear exercises which both celebrated our achievements and gave us some tools to help us keep that “negative” voice at bay.
I highly recommend this process for your team, it really helped us focus on what we were doing and why and develop us as colleagues.” Michelle Bowen Director UKYA

Rod Fuller – Action Coach

Rod has been in both director and senior leadership positions in a number of organisations, including manufacturing, logistics and service companies. With a track record of over 30 years of ‘hands-on’ business experience and successful leadership, Rod will work with you to add value and grow your business.
As a business owner, the chances are you went into business because you were good at delivering a particular product or service. What I find in my coaching sessions with business owners is that it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the knowledge to get the best out of your team or know the significant number of strategies that can increase the profits in your business. It doesn’t mean you have access to the systems that allow your business to work without you, or to increase the value of your business.
Rod has been offering a number of training sessions on a pro-bono basis since the beginning of the Covid-19 situation and has now created this webinar exclusively for M&A 2020 members.
The path your business will follow when restrictions are eased will be determined now!
This Webinar exclusively for Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 members will cover 11 areas for you to consider and what actions you will need to take to get your business in a position to survive then thrive the current crisis.
Areas that we will cover include:

  • Cash management
  • Marketing & Selling
  • Teams & Communication

The immediate focus is survival and having a plan in place for this.  However, the easing of restrictions will mean the “Spring” phase of economic cycles will kick in within the next 60 – 90 days.  If our businesses have adapted, they will be in a much stronger position to capitalise ahead of the competition in the market.  If not, the reality is, we may not survive the year.
The role I play as a business coach is to get you and your business into a position to drive forward and thrive so that by the end of December you have not just returned to where you were in February but will be are ahead of the curve – and ahead of the competition.
The webinar will have plenty of time at the end for Q&A as well as the opportunity for you to book a complementary ½ hour coaching session for you to follow up on issues specific to you.

“Just spent some very valuable time on a zoom call with Rod Fuller – BUSINESS GROWTH SPECIALIST discussing how my business is coping with the current crisis. Rod was absolutely superb, he gives his time for free to genuinely help people.
If you need a third eye to look over your business reach out to him ?“  John Morley, Managing Director I-Sourcer – Multi award-winning  Social Media Promotion/Linkedin training/ Web Design

The webinar will be held on Friday 17th April at 11.30am follow the link to join https://zoom.us/j/616242564

Fred Copestake – Brindis

Fred helps those involved in professional sales achieve the results they desire. Using experience gained through 20 years working in over 35 countries helping deliver performance improvements, he has created proprietary models to simplify the complex B2B selling scenarios that develop, so clients can take back control of their sales and management activity.
By increasing the skills and knowledge required for every role involved in a sale, it means objectives are clearer, plans are tighter, and relationships are stronger – effectively all parties live and work happier through achieving goals together.
Fred is offering M&A members the following exclusive 90-minute session to help you think about B2B sales differently. Places are limited to 10 on a first come first served basis.
Selling Out of Survive Mode
We are in one of the most challenging times most salespeople will have ever faced. As such it is not ‘business as usual’ and to try to address it in the same way as normal by just throwing in a bit of video conferencing technology, firing off emails or swamping social media would be a mistake.
The whole environment is different, and sales professionals should embrace the opportunity to do something different and keep their competitive edge. Using the 4C Model helps. It is about continuing to add value to customers and helping the relationship move towards ‘Thrive Mode’ faster.

This session is part of the ‘Selling in the New Normal – From Survive to Thrive’ suite developed by sales performance consultancy Brindis.
Designed for those operating in the B2B environment it gives an overview of the ‘rapid response’ required in times of crisis.
It is delivered in a virtual classroom setting so numbers are limited to allow greater interaction and opportunity to take away practical learning.

The training session will be held on Thursday 16th April at 2.00 pm follow the link to book your tickets:
