The grants are available to local businesses that have been affected and includes non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, accommodation, personal care, entertainment and businesses in the direct supply chain of these business sectors.
Ashfield District Council will receive at least £4.3million to distribute in grants, with a further grant income stream yet to be confirmed by Government. The funding was decided by Government formula to ensure every Council in the country received fair and equitable funding.
The application scheme opens on Friday 13th November, with an application deadline of midnight on Sunday 29th November 2020.
The online eligibility checker will quickly let businesses see if they are eligible to apply for the grants. If they answer yes to all six eligibility criteria, the next step is complete a quick and easy application form. All applications must be made online, complete with the required evidence, and before the deadline.
Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader of Ashfield District Council said “These are extremely difficult times and we know the grants will be a lifeline to many of our businesses across the District.  I want to encourage as many businesses as possible to check to see if they are eligible for these grants. The money is here to help business reduce the impact of the pandemic and support them when they are able to reopen.”
