How to Secure Public Sector Contracts in partnership with Mansfield District Council – 21 September


This event focuses on public procurement processes and seeks to boost the confidence of smaller organisations to tender for locally available work. On the day we aim to clarify the processes involved, showcase where the opportunities are to be found – including the support available – as well as to share some examples of best-practice.
 
Winning business and building resilience with ISO Standards with BSI – 18 August
Business of all shapes and sizes are frequently being asked to demonstrate their compliance with standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 when either tendering for new business opportunities or looking to grow the work they do with existing customers. But what are these standards, why are they being asked for and what benefits do they bring to your business?
In this session, BSI, the UK’s leading ISO certification body with over 115 years of experience of working with Standards, will run through some of the key standards you are likely to be asked for, the concepts behind them and the steps required for achieving the necessary certification to demonstrate your excellence when bidding for work.
 
Contract Opportunities at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games – 8 September
Birmingham’s hosting of the upcoming 2022 Commonwealth Games will see a benefit of a £778 million investment to stage the 2022 Commonwealth Games, in turn this investment will create a wide range of opportunities for East Midlands business.
In the run up to the Games, an array of products and services will need to be procured in order to ensure the success of the games. These will range from large scale infrastructure to the Commonwealth Games branding, to catering and training. In addition, there will be further supply chain opportunities created by the organisations delivering the major direct contracts.
 
Best Practice for embedding EDI into your business with HS2 Ltd – 16 September
This session will detail how HS2 engage with contractors and how they will be asked to set out a clear plan with evidence of how they embed EDI within their organisation and their supply chains – with key areas of focus on recruitment models, and supplier diversity. The session also informs those organisations throughout the supply chain, supports best practice for businesses when tendering for public sector contracts and looks beyond just policy. Sustainability in Enterprise (SiE) with Nottingham Trent University: Briefing Session – 7 September
SiE provides practical support and funding to reduce the carbon emissions of eligible Nottingham small and medium-sized enterprises such as:

  • Full site audit, sustainability diagnostic report complete with recommendations
  • Development of bespoke sustainability action plan
  • Grants to support implementation of carbon reduction recommendations
  • Carbon management programme to help you implement recommendations
  • Product design consultancy to design waste out products or packaging
  • Financial support to hire a graduate in any new role – and bespoke programme to help engage them as a sustainability champion in your business via our Sustainability Community Lab
