Inspire Learning is offering Nottinghamshire residents FREE online courses as part of a new summer programme to promote health and wellbeing, help people into employment or training, and support home schooling.
People can sign up to learn something new, explore a hobby or new interest and develop their skills. For parents who need help with home schooling, there’s also family learning courses to help keep children happy, interested and educated.
No experience or qualifications are needed to join and the courses are FREE to everyone aged 19+ regardless of personal or financial circumstances.
Functional skills in Maths, English and ICT, puppet making, child mental health, complimentary therapies, mindfulness, pilates, patchwork, sewing and languages are just a few examples of the courses on offer.
As a Way2Work partner Inspire is supporting people into training and employment through online learning and its library service, providing courses that will allow people to gain recognised qualifications and brush up on their skills.
Everyone has been adjusting to a new way of life during lockdown and looking after our physical and mental health has never been more important. Our health and wellbeing courses have been developed with this in mind. They include subjects such as complimentary therapies, positive affirmations, mindfulness and mudras to help relax the body and quiet the mind.
For some people juggling home schooling, running a home and working has been a challenge, so we’ve introduced some family learning courses to help parents keep their children interested in learning and feel connected during what has been a stressful time for many.
Councillor John Cottee, Chairman of the Communities and Place Committee at Nottinghamshire County Council, said: “It is excellent news that Inspire is now able to provide its adult education programme online.
“The programme offers adults the chance to learn something new as well as giving them the opportunity to explore new hobbies and interests and I am really pleased that our communities will be able to continue doing this from the comfort of their own homes.

We hope to resume some face to face courses in the autumn, but will continue to offer online options going forwards.”
