Ashfield District Council has installed hand sanitiser stations at its town centre carparks as part of its ongoing plans to make town centres safe places to enjoy.
The free standing hand sanitiser stations are located next to payment stations at town centre car parks in Hucknall, Sutton and Kirkby as well as Huthwaite Market Place and Kings Mill Reservoir.
This is just one of the measures put in place, thanks to the Council’s Covid-19 Response & Recovery Panel to ensure that residents can shop safely in Ashfield. Our Covid Support Officers have visited over 740 businesses across the district to offer guidance and support. Banners and posters promoting social distancing and face coverings are in place to act as a reminder to residents and you can now pay for parking via the paybyphone app.
We are encouraging residents to shop small and support local independent retailers. To support this all our town centre car parks have two hours free parking all day, every day and throughout December parking in our town centre car parks is completely free.
Cllr Lee Waters, Councillor for Hucknall North said “The hand sanitiser stations will allow residents and visitors using our car parks to have further peace of mind when they’re out and about across the District. We want to encourage people to enjoy the wide range of retailers our high streets offer and come out and view our fantastic Christmas lights knowing that their family and friends will be safe.”
