NIDAS are taking part in the upcoming Nottingham Legal Walk on Thursday 16 May 2019 to raise funds for the Access to Justice Foundation and their specialist Civil and Family Court support worker.
Each year, 100’s of families contact NIDAS who are/have experienced domestic abuse and in need of some assistance to navigate their way through often complex legal systems and processes. Working in partnership with local Solicitors and Barristers, NIDAS offer vital emotional support and practical advice to survivors, enabling them to achieve the best outcome possible for themselves and their children.
Client feedback: “It was the best thing I did emailing NIDAS for support. If I didn’t then it would have been unnerving and I wouldn’t have known what to do, I would have been intimidated. They were like a Guardian Angel when I needed it the most”
Local Solicitor feedback: “I feel the role which you undertake with survivors of DVA is not only of great assistance but I believe essential for inside and outside of the Court arena as it provides a level of support and security to individuals, and their families, which is not available elsewhere. I truly believe that without this support, people will be less inclined to enter into such an environment despite it being necessary to do so”
