Kirkby Rotary Club would normally hold a couple of afternoon tea parties for local elderly residents each year and as a result of COVID-19 the summer event is currently on hold.
So instead of waiting for the residents to come to them, Kirkby Rotary made a donation to 3 local care homes recently of fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers, as a thank you to the residents and key workers.
They delivered to Lowmoor Nursing, Five Gables and Willis Lodge, with a reminder that they are looking forward to welcoming them all to the next Tea Party in Kirkby as soon as possible after restrictions are lifted and conditions allow.
A big thank you to all members and donations, and to Nicola Barnfather and her team at Morrisons Kirkby for helping Kirkby Rotary make this possible.
