Energy for Business grant re-opens for applications
The Energy for Business capital grant is for businesses who wish to improve energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions or who are implementing sustainable energy technologies. To be successful, businesses must be classified as SME, based in the D2N2 region (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire) and be able to demonstrate a low-carbon element to their project.

Ryley Wealth Management, has reported record results for the financial year. Turnover for the year to December 2017 increased by 45% to £2.9M and over the same period increased the clients’ funds under management by £55M. This growth has continued in 2018 with total funds under management now exceeding £400M.
Corporate Motion seeks funding for drama series pilot
Corporate Motion is seeking funding for a TV pilot based on the story of paratrooper Private Sidney Cornell, during World War II. The story follows a variety of characters throughout the war and until D-Day. The funding project will run for 60 days with the hope of raising £265,000.

11 August: Equine emergencies: First aid training & knowing how to respond in a crisis – Derby
A team of highly-qualified equine vets and nurses from Scarsdale Vets are hosting an interactive event at Scarsdale’s Markeaton practice in Derby, teaching horse owners how to effectively respond in a crisis, correctly bandage wounds and recognise when it’s time to seek professional help and call their vet.
25 September: Measure, Monitor, Generate and Store: Energy for Business – Nottingham
This event is a two-day workshop on energy measurement, monitoring, generation and storage. The events will look at where energy is used within businesses as a first step to reducing energy use.
11 October: Heathrow Business Summit – Doncaster
Doncaster Chamber will host a Heathrow Business Summit in partnership with Heathrow. The event will give SME businesses the chance to have a free 15 minute face-to-face appointment with Heathrow’s supply chain in a one-day event taking place at Doncaster Racecourse.
