The grade 2 listed building as housed many businesses over the years but Ciao Bella owner Tamer Abouelela has given it the high end, homely and welcoming environment that is needed to stand out and be different. Just three years after opening due to its growing popularity with local, loyal customers, Ciao Bella launched a city-style bar and lounge directly next door that continues to go from strength to strength.
Having used the lockdown time wisely and taking the opportunity to completely renovate the restaurant using local tradespeople and local suppliers to complete the elegant, modern and contemporary new look with the all-important touch of cosiness for romantic nights out. Driven to continuously deliver an inviting setting that is unique and caters for intimate meetings and group gatherings.
With over 1,000 positive online reviews expressing the extremely attentive friendly service, lovely atmosphere, quality of food, it’s evident that Ciao Bella is a local business growing and adding to Mansfield’s busy evening economy.
Since the hospitality industry reopened on the 4th July, the restaurant, lounge and bar have been fully booked every weekend. Owner Tamer Abouelela reflects on the last five years ‘Our success is only possible with our community, customers and staff. From day one of opening I’ve always been passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and our customers always leave as a friend.’

‘The support from Mansfield District Council has been outstanding from inception. It was Mansfield’s former mayor Tony Egginton who found the building for me after understanding my vision for an Italian restaurant. Then it was former mayor Kate Allsop who listened, understood and fully supported the plans to extend the site for a lounge and bar. Throughout my business journey in Mansfield MDC officers have been very supportive – everyone from planning, licensing and environmental – they have all helped me make this happen.
I’m also delighted to announce that we now own the freehold to Ciao Bella Restaurant, Lounge and Bar. This is with thanks to Mayor Andy Abrahams and his team. I’ve found the support encouraging and truly evident that Mansfield District Council has a leader that is driven to promote investment and growth in the town. Having spoken to other business owners in and outside the area, the funding support and guidance provided by MDC during lockdown has been the best in the country I believe.’
‘Ordinarily, it would be an opportunity to party and celebrate; however, considering the COVID situation we will celebrate behind the scenes with our staff. Not only thank them for the last 5 years but for adapting to the new operating procedures and managing the overwhelming custom that the Eat Out Campaign has had upon the restaurant and lounge.’
‘We look forward to continuing to serve customers old and new and providing a great venue for meeting up with friends in relaxing, stylish surroundings.’
