It has been a long journey to date for all of us, with some very troubled and sad times, hopefully, being left (but not forgotten) behind us.
Many businesses in our locality have shown excellent resilience and are either continuing their progress or well on the way to decent recovery.
Sadly, we have lost a number of businesses but the future does look better particularly with the Amazon unit opening and the number of start-ups the Mansfield & Ashfield area is seeing.
We at M&A 2020 are still working hard to support local business and the wider community in the events we continue to push out each month.
The twice monthly Just networking sessions are aimed at giving you a platform to market yourself and to build new relationships.
We continue to hold our monthly breakfast meetings with keynote speakers, most recently having Nigel Clough and the Bank of England talking to us.
For those who attended Thursday 29th April to hear from County Battery and Nottingham Trent University, I am sure you will agree we are being diverse and always trying to be creative & innovative with our speaker choices.
During March we held an experimental peer group session for retail and are providing three sessions for the business world to get involved in during the next couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, our first session “Visual merchandising” is to be re-arranged due to illness of the keynote presenter. These challenges, like those within business, are faced regularly and are becoming part of the routine for M&A 2020 in terms of our own resilience and effectiveness.
The sessions around marketing, the use of digital, social media and visual marketing techniques are aimed at potentially giving you new ideas to grow. Whether that be from a start or to rebuild following recent troubled times.
Come along and join us to see if there are any useful tips for you to benefit from.
The Government roadmap is taking shape and as such we hope to begin face to face breakfast meetings and possibly, other social events come September.
We are open to how we can do anything prior to then; rules allowing.
The board of M&A 2020 continue to challenge each other in our three-pillar groups of networking, business support and skills & enterprise as to how we can best continue to support and assist with local economic recovery.
We are looking to you our members and the wider business community to come forward and let us know what would best serve your needs.
It would be absolutely fantastic if we could get engagement with manufacturing, engineering and retail businesses which form a large part of the heart of our economy.
I do hope you continue to support our efforts and our virtual events with the experience of face to face seemingly now getting a little closer.
It would be even better if you were to become a member allowing us to work with you to make sure Mansfield & Ashfield communities thrive.
