How time flies, it does not seem two minutes since most people took a break for the Christmas period, and here we are already at end of January.
Unfortunately, we are still facing the same challenges of adhering to restrictions, attempting to run a business or go to work, to home school kids and everything else that just seems to keep arriving on our doorsteps.
We must all keep positive, no matter how hard it seems, we must all continue to support each other, and we must attempt to maintain the fantastic community spirit that has helped so many.
M&A 2020 have held the first two Just networking events and thank you to all attendee’s as they were very well attended, and I am sure much was gained from those conversations.
We held our first virtual breakfast meeting of the year, again well attended thank you. Our speakers Robert Siderfin of Hopkins solicitors talking us through a myriad of legal issues to consider and Lynn Oxborrow & Shamshad Walker of NTU Business school informing us of some of the great educational programmes available to businesses were well received and we thank them for their time and insights.
Next month we are hoping to see Nigel Clough as our guest speaker, unfortunately Nigel had to pull out at the end of 2020 but we hope he will give us an insightful view of coaching, managing and football even.
Come along to our February Just networking events on 11th and 23rd February and do not miss the breakfast meeting on 25th February.
To get more from us as a group why not get in touch with Ella McManus, our Operations manager and discuss the benefits of membership. A telephone conversation may help you reach a wider audience for your business.
By becoming a member, you get access to some really good people, important information and beneficial peer support.
However, not being a member does not preclude you from help as I maintain my position that we must work collaboratively and together to grow our economy and make 2021 the year Mansfield & Ashfield are recognised for special things.

For those in the community who have been supporting and promoting the digital poverty campaign I would like to firstly say a big thank you for recent donations and to also let you know the campaign still runs, however, under a new banner.
It is now #WeMakeICTPossible

The crowdfund https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/wemakeICTpossiblenotts
With the generosity to date the team of Martin Rigley, Katie Cooper Lewis and I will have distributed 100 laptops at the end of this week.
So, keep on promoting, keep on donating every bit helps ease the current issues and the longer-term problems some of our families are facing.
The Board of M&A 2020 have begun the process of introducing new support teams to discuss, plan and implement some hopefully exciting and beneficial projects that will be of use to you as you start up, restart or recover your business.
We will be asking for member participation in these groups to get the best from the array of entrepreneurial, business leader, management and employee talent the area has to offer.
Onwards and upwards
Gary Jordan
Mansfield & Ashfield 2020 Chairman
