What a month July is shaping up to be with Pubs, Restaurants, Hairdressers and more retail businesses opening their doors to customers once again.
The Government announcing another £30 billion plan to boost the economy with a job retention bonus scheme, VAT reduction for the hospitality world, kick starter schemes for differing age groups of young people aimed at trainees & apprenticeships, a 50% discount for eating out and more.
It is now up to the business community to respond and M&A 2020 will be continuing to support our members and the wider business community with our information signposting, JUST Networking events, our next IT & Digital strategy workshops – an Introduction to Microsoft 365 & Using online automation to attract more customers – and the end of month video conference breakfast meeting, where we will see Olympic Gold Medallist, Rebecca Adlington launch the Mansfield Rotary Club Swimathon, just in time for the re-opening of swimming pools .

It is by talking through the issues that the right messages get sent out to the right people so please continue to give us your thoughts and concerns.
Around the Mansfield & Ashfield area the work continues to plan for supporting businesses through the next stages of the ease of lockdown and building of strategic plans for the work that is required to boost our economy, rebuild our reputation and to gain whatever means practicable of gaining future inward investment.
Making Mansfield Place Board, Discover Ashfield Board and both local authorities Ashfield District Council and Mansfield District Council, have been building the Towns Fund bids, working up exciting projects and plans to reinvigorate and develop life as we know it.
On behalf of M&A 2020 members I continue to drive forward the development our new 10-year vision & strategic objectives, which is something that we believe will help many businesses following our eventual launch.
In my role as Chair, I am also working with D2N2, Vision West Nottinghamshire College, local business leaders and a number of skills groups to determine how we can best support the pupils leaving school this month and those unfortunately made redundant due to the pandemic.
The feedback from our membership and the local business community as a whole has been of paramount importance to allow good debate on what could be the most beneficial way to assist people through the next few months.
It is now more important than ever that we stick together, promote each other’s businesses, collaborate where sensible & practicable, send out positivity (in testing times) and look forward not back.
Mansfield & Ashfield as regions are steeped in history, built on solid foundations and are as resilient as we can be, even when the going gets tough.
A local business leader who has gone through the wringer a few times this year reminded me of the Three Musketeers… ”All for one and one for all!”
Together, we can rebuild the local economy, get people back into work and give inspiration to the youth of today.
Become a member, get involved, join our journey and enjoy the ride.
