As we prepare to enter the beginning of Autumn it is an opportunity to reflect on the most unusual of times that 2020 as a calendar year has given us.
COVID -19 is rightly at the forefront of everyone’s mind, but it is what has been brought out of the adversity that keeps us at M&A 2020 campaigning for the businesses and the communities of Ashfield & Mansfield, in terms of highlighting our resilience, our friendships, community spirit and will to assist those less fortunate.
Sutton Academy foodbank continues to support the vulnerable with food parcels and more, community workers are out in Sutton, Kirkby and Mansfield town centres helping people manage themselves safely as they gain more confidence when going about their business.
Many local businesses continue to offer free support to the wider business community through schemes like the ‘Shout Out to Help Out’ led by John Morley.
The Governments eat out to help out scheme is being extended by many local cafes, bars and restaurants which is great news.
I have said many times that a collaborative will to work together and support each other will help us build solid foundations for the future.
We at MA2020 have had many of the same challenges faced by you our members but we continue to look to the future with positivity and hope that you have benefited from the support we have offered.
We are close to putting the detail to our virtual awards event together and have begun the process of asking you to support us on the 25
th September.
We wanted to ensure that our local businesses were still given the opportunity (albeit in a quirky manner) to engage with their peers and to be recognised for their efforts.
I said in my last correspondence that I would like existing members to renew, to talk to friends, business associates and the wider business community to join our group as we push forward with the vision of how we will continue to give excellent support and to be more involved in the issues that matter and can be influenced by having a large collective voice.
