Your Home Care, the Mansfield Woodhouse-based homecare provider that only launched in July has now got the official go-ahead from the regulatory body that oversees the sector.
Set up by friends Paul Pitchford and Scott Marsh, who both have experience in building home care businesses, Your Home Care aims to raise industry standards in Nottinghamshire.
It recently became the only provider in Nottinghamshire of the NHS’s RESTORE2 initiative where people are offered a regular health check-up that can highlight potential issues which are then flagged up with relevant medical teams.
But in order to provide personal care, organisations have to have approval from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) before they can deliver the service.
A CQC inspector recently examined all the processes, systems and policies of Your Home Care and has now written to the company to officially say it can now “carry out regulated activities” under the guidance of a Registered Care Manager.
Paul said: “It has taken a lot of planning and hard work to get to this stage, which is in fact just the beginning of our journey to deliver outstanding home care to clients in Nottinghamshire.
“We’re delighted to get this approval because we have, with our Registered Care Manager Denise Pitts, put together what we believe is a plan to take home care to the next level. It’s ambitious but we know with the right people, the right training and the right standards, we can be successful.”
Scott, who is also the company’s nominated person and so responsible for supervising how the regulated activity is managed, added: “We are so passionate about delivering exceptional care to people in their own homes. We know, through our own families, that home care has to be personal and has to be built around the needs of an individual.
“This news from the CQC means we can now start recruiting a great team of people to help make a difference to people’s lives.”
Your Home Care will now start the recruitment process to ensure it has the right people in place to cover clients in the Mansfield and Ashfield area. Scott and Paul also have ambitions to grow the business across Nottinghamshire.
