This free workshop, delivered by Mansfield District Council, focuses on public procurement processes, and seeks to boost the confidence of smaller organisations to tender for locally available work. 

The workshop is being held to give contractors a practical guide to tendering with the council on projects under the £50K threshold, this includes detail of the new procurement portal which will be the Council’s first port of call for suppliers.

Seminar – Developing New Business Opportunities – 17 June, East Midlands Conference Centre, University Park Campus, Beeston Lane, Nottingham

Delivered in partnership with the University of Nottingham, this event focuses on a range of procurement opportunities and seeks to boost the confidence of smaller organisations to tender for locally available work.

This event aims to clarify processes involved, showcase where the opportunities are to be found, the type of requirements and eligibility criteria required, as well as sharing some examples of best-practice. This seminar will offer an informal opportunity to raise any questions or concerns about existing processes to the speakers and will provide potential suppliers with the know-how to identify and tender for local contract opportunities. On the day we will hear about:

  • The University of Nottingham’s procurement opportunities – How to bid for tenders with the University direct or via a 3rd party, upcoming opportunities for regional business and what they look for in our suppliers and partners, which will include a focus on Responsible Procurement) – Dr Lisa Carroll, Commercial Director and Rosie Parkin, Head of Procurement
  • Tendering with Local Authorities – Kaj Ghattaora, Head of Procurement, Nottinghamshire County Council – the types of tender opportunities that the Council offers, where to find them and what criteria is important to them.
  • Detail of tender opportunities and processes with the NHS – detail provided by the NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit
