Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has secured funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to manage a range of support programmes aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
NTU offers businesses the support they need to thrive. We help entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life, and we provide SMEs with access to the expertise and facilities they need to help them grow.

Enabling Innovation

Businesses looking to develop new products, services and process can benefit from the expertise and services available from a range of our teams.

  • food and drink
  • materials and engineering
  • leadership and management
  • start-up support via The Hive, our centre for entrepreneurship and enterprise.

The Big House

The Big House programme supports the growth of digital and creative SMEs within Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. At NTU, you can receive support through:

  • a specialist workshop series for digital businesses
  • grants for hiring freelancers and graduates
  • one-to-one diagnostics and mentoring with digital business advisors
  • brokerage with organisations that also support creative and digital industries.

NTU and our partners at the East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) are developing a network of businesses that are either fast-growing or keen to scale-up.
