Richard Fuller of County Battery has decided to stand down as a director of 2020 and so the board want to thank him for all his years of hard work and support!
Richard joined the Board in November 2014 and since then has helped guide and shape many projects and achievements.
For those visiting the Breakfast meetings with any regularity Richard will be rightly remembered for his unstinting support of Portland Training College through the sales of ‘Tricky Dicky’s chocolates’ and his uncanny ability to empty your pocket, wallet or purse as you walk past, all for the best possible cause.
Richard is also memorable for his dapper and sartorial elegance- always gracing meetings with a stylish bow tie often reflecting something topical- Union Jack, Christmas, Celebrations etc!  Who can forget his cycle from Switzerland to Ashfield too?!  A fantastic achievement on his tandem with his wife as co-rider on their tandem.
His transformation into the ‘Christmas Bandit’, again all in favour of good causes, to support the Christmas Lights Appeal for Mansfield and Ashfield was ‘felt’ by everyone, and all with the best of graces.
In the background, Richard always pushed for the link with education and business, and my favourite moment was his ‘roasting’ of the Right Hon. Chris Grayling, former Secretary of State for Transport, at a private luncheon in West Nottinghamshire College, regarding the need, or otherwise, for the proliferation of Traffic Lights along the A38.   A true ‘Quality Street’ moment.
Many thanks and good wishes from everyone at the Board for all your work over the last 5 years!

Russell Jones, Chairman
