Mansfield Building Society has received national and local recognition for its products, service and community work with a trio of awards received in November 2018.

At the start of the month, the Mansfield Building Society won the prestigious Platinum award for Customer Service at the Mansfield Town Centre Customer Service Awards organised by Mansfield BID. The award was given after the Society scored 100% on its customer experience visit – the highest score available from the Mansfield BID. The panel of judges were impressed with the high level of attentiveness and knowledge displayed by the Society’s staff.

To continue its winning streak, Mortgage Finance Gazette honoured the Society with its ‘Highly Commended’ award for its continued community work. The award recognises the commitment made by the Society to its heartland area through volunteering and a legacy of giving through its Community Support Scheme and The Mansfield Building Society’s Charitable Trust.

In 2018, the Society’s Charitable Trust has donated or pledged a total of £62,500 to three local organisations which provide long-lasting development and value to the local community. Portland College is set to benefit from £42,500 for a woodland adventure trail and £10,000 has been awarded to both R.E.A.L Education and The Inspire and Achieve Foundation to respectively operate a mobile classroom and a Prince’s Trust programme.

Finally, at the end of the month, The Mansfield won ‘Best Junior ISA’ in The Money Pages Personal Finance Awards following open voting online. The Junior ISA has a ‘Local and Loyal’ restriction which gives existing customers with one year’s membership, or those living in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire, preferential rates on selected savings products.

Nicola Caulton, Branches and Community Manager at the Society said: “We’re astounded and honoured to receive these 3 awards which highlight key priorities for us – our community, our products, and the service we provide to our members.”

We work incredibly hard to ensure our mutual ethos is at the heart of everything we do – it drives our charitable ambitions, the products that we offer and the service we give to borrowers and savers. We’re owned by our members, many of whom are local and loyal savers. By receiving these awards, it’s good to know that independent organisations are recognising the value that we give to these customers.”
